Greetings, peeps!

Good news, everyone! Here’s a bonus strip for your enjoyment. 'Artist’s Woes' was my first. As we’re fast approaching #34 I decided to revisit the joke tempered with almost a year’s worth of practice.

Looking back, Artinaut is an artist, but we almost never see her do any work. Isn’t that strange? The wall plant is based on the Hoya I have growing in my room. The cutting was a gift from my Russian grandmother who wanted to share a piece of a decades-old plant in our kitchen there. It’s said that its leathery, star-shaped flowers bloom and emit an aroma only at night. Mine has yet to flower.

Especially pleased with the kid-drawn Lasersaurus Monster Truck in the third panel.

I really like the redo of this concept. It fits much better with the rest of what the comic has become, what with the alien decor and technology, and I think the subject being the Lasersaurus is also more fitting. You could totally put the last panel in the "Draw This Again" meme. Your improvements artistically and development of this comic's world have been pretty drastic! Even though you see your own art in kid-scribble-o-vision, I hope your process isn't totally invisible to you as well.

I'm pleased that you enjoyed the redo. Really, it seemed appropriate. It took until about #11 to find the voice of Artinaut, and the process is on-going. Without wanting to sound big-headed, I'd dare say that I'm happy with how the webcomic has improved (and can see that there is a small and cosy bunch of peeps who enjoy following it too). That said, there's so much left to learn.
