The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

, it's not been fun knowing ya. *barf* So, have you been keeping up with your new years resolutions?...

Anyways, dis is da verdict:

#1: 'Learn to swallow capsules.'

Well... um. It's a complete disaster. So there it is, the capsule sittin' on the table staring you straight in the eye 'Comaun, Punk... MAKE MY DAY', and you do... That is dump it in your mouth, all prepared and ready to send it on it's water voyage. Hoo hooo... And then it sort of meanders around your mouth, sloshing about, like clinging on with its last strength. Whilst dissolving slowly. Into an extremely bitter barf on your tongue... quite frankly, it ain't pretty . So it's a Nil Points on this one. The cappy goes into food, me eats. Ah wellington...

#2: 'Set some time aside for Art/Writing.'

This one's well on its way! Yeah! I got three projects rolling about at the moment, and am almost-ALMOST finished with the first one ( The one that has been sitting unfinished for... ooooh since October. No writing so far, but an odd idea or two are trotting about in meh brain . Stay toooooooned for updates, folks!

#3: 'Go to the Gym, at least twice a week.'

The 'once' is the easy part... Workin' on eeeeeet.

#4: 'Be more helpful around the house'.

Definitely a go. Even a couple of hours a week is something... although I wish it was a bit more...

#5: 'Finish 'Piss-easy Keyboards' Volume One.'

Not yet lol! A bit of a tinkle there, and a wee there... (ho hoooo see what I did there? GOD, I'm hilarious! ) Better slow and little than nothing at all, eh?

#6: 'Do more for charity.'

Kinda. Sorta. A 'lil bit' is better than nothing. Also, donated some munay to the 'Tsunami Aid', go me.

#7: 'Learn AVID in order tto progressswiftlyupthecorporateladderwhere Icanearntruckloadsofmoneyandneverworkaga in!'

Not strictly speaking... but the nice peeps at work keep showing me technical bits and allowing to poke some buttons and stuff... Nais. Coookeeeeeet!1 And, also, I got paid yesterday too. Cooookeeeeet!!1one

Wooo! I remember the time I had to take them capsules! My dad wouldn't let me leave the restroom until I swallowed it, I was so scared and stuff, so I kept it in my mouth, and it was the hard kind of capsules, the ones that don't dissolve?

So this one burst in my mouth *shivers* Yeeech....

I can swallow two at time now though!
