Waharr!
Oh mi God, me mateys!
Rejoice, for last night was the night of The Gig at 'The Clapham Grand' in London. (as you can see from the poster on the left) It was a star-studded event, including yours truly... and, well that's all really. Oh... and The Extenders my Local Band (tm).
So there I am, working like, when K (Weresinger... works by day, sings by night) comes over and asks:
'Yo yo ho, do you have a camera?
I'm like Maybe, what's it to you, you silly man?
And he's like Das bling, wanna shoot our band tonight?
And I go Heck no, I don' wanna kill no one.
He goes Hell whoa, jus' wanna film our gig tonight?
... at which point I fall over and go Hell yeah!!
Well, give or take a few dozen words.
Anyways I borrowed my Step-mum's cam (thankees), grabbed my Dad (because he absolutely desired to go out for some live music)
So we get there, right? It's raining, cold. Heck, typical London spring. Guess what? The bloody doors are closed!
I really wanted to tape some pre-gig shots of the stage, etc... so I basically knocked on the staff door and went...
Me: *stutter* I'm here to film... the band asked me to shoot the gig tonight.
Jeez, I was worried that they'll forbid me to take a camera in... or even refuse entry till the doors opened, and I didn't think this quiet squeak was going to get us in anyway... at which point the bloke goes:
Yeah, alright...go straight in.
Fantastic! Kookeeeeet!
It was a fantastic night, very, very fun... There is this strange sort of power, given a camera in hand. You can go wherever you want to and film whatever you need. You feel confident, strong... even if you are shy *ahem*. The Extenders spot lasted half an hour, and we got most of it down before the battery croaked on me.
The guys were great on stage. Not sure, but it's possible that this was their first in a 1500 capacity space. The crowd absolutely loved them, and when they finished, demanded an encore. Noisily. The lead singer slinked back on stage and giggled:
I always wanted to do that...
(As per the footage, not sure if they can use any of it... since it is very shaky - the cam weighed a ton! - and the quality is what you can expect from VHS... but at least it's something)
Gawd I had a fantastic time!

That's freakin' sweeet to be able to film them n' all.
Too bad about the weather though. I personally like the rain, myself. Then again I've never been in a storm in England. I've never been in England! But I bet the weather is similar here. Maine has some pretty freaky weather patterns. Once, it had been at a high of 60 F and then snowing later that night.Never a dull moment meteorologically (or however you spell it) speaking.
I love the rain, man. But only in the summer when it's warm, and really heavy... so heavy you can't see your hands.
lol Yeah, it's the same here. The weather is going crayzeeey... the Spring came three times, with three cold periods in between...
Well... they had an actual film crew over there, and another two camera-peeps.
lol it's very lenient here, innit?
A real crew is different.
It is lenient there. A lot more then here. America is circling the drain.
