NOT FOR LONG...!
'Wake up, we are gonna go see 'Saw''. And they kept pestering with other random objects, including my pants
...yes we went...
Upon repeated inquiries as to the film's eek-factor, the (ex)Boyfriend answered with a dismissive wave 'Not scary at all.'
...liar...
...Please understand me, I can appretiate a good horror film like Gothica (yes, which is formulaic in parts...) and the classic Japanese horror like The Eye, where we imagine more than we see...or even the The Freddy Krueger Series, because it's just darn fun seeing all the new ways each team invents to kill of their 'naughty teenagers'...
...Those are works of art, that prod fear into your eyes, but give enough breathing space...so that when you leave that dark room, the nightmares stay behind.
I am admitting, I couldn't handle it...when I saw a woman, with her jaws right about to be exploded open, I had to run... Am I chicken?... My overactive imagination placed me right there with her, I felt the pain of it happening to me.
I floated home tunnel-vision auto-pilot...
...I don't understand how anyone could enjoy this film. With all the evils of the world, beheadings on video, torture, death...It hits too close to home. Horror is about putting you into a situation of the supernatural...and that no matter how 'scared' you are in the theatre, you know...no 'knife-handed' psycho is about to slash you in your dreams.
...I know, I know that Cary Elwes might seem mighty cute, that is not enough of a reason to lose your sanity.
...these are the films that stay with you forever, in the worst sense of the phrase...
...end
You know who you are...

The dude dropped my trousers on my face, and I said 'fold them up and put them back where you found them :fume:!'...he folded them up and put them back on my face, folded...!
Hey I like your blinking Avatar! Nice one
Thanks for the avatar compliment; it was actually sitting on my HDD for some time, and I just recently discovered doing this quick, little GIF animation. Since my previous one was creepy, I thought this would be more relaxing - unless for those who have stare-paranoia in which they don'l like eyes staring directly at them.
Gore for the sake of gore, just as with everything else...loses meaning.
I guess, if you really wanted...you could find meaning...
Such as...in one particular occasion (before I walked out), the killer put a man in a metal cage. He'd cut his wrists the week before 'Perhaps for attention, pehaps to see what it felt like'... So the man finds himself at the far end of this cage, with strings of barbed, razor wire in front of him. The killer says that the exit door will slam shut in three hours...so the guy has to rush through all the sharp wire to get free...
Needless to say that the man cuts himself open on them and hangs dead when police find him.
Yeah...there may be the message of 'don't experiment with death, when your life is reasonably good'...but who the hell are they to push this pogo-psychology at us?
First of all, people have different reasons for committing suicide, sometimes it's to do with survival, sometimes with attention...but almost always it's to do with the darkness in your mind. So basically they wanted to make a point that is COMPLETELY WRONG.
The film-makers suck and there was no point.
Some movies are just not right.
In times like these, you think a director would have some taste.
At your advice, I shall skip watching this movie.
Yeah, I can't figure out the thought process there, ...I mean what was the point? What sort of a mind would have come up with this?...
*meep*
Ah well...from what my sis and her bf told me of the latter half, I was right to go.
